Friday was our last day in London and we wanted to kind of take it easy...so we walked 3 miles to Greenwich Park.
The walk to Greenwich took us through some other parks, in one park we stopped to watch a Cricket match, it was interesting but confusing.

We took the Greenwich tunnel to get to the other side of the River Thames, it was 87 steps down into the tunnel; we were getting our exercise. |
The tunnel pops you out at the foot of Greenwich Park. Near Greenwich Park is the Cutty Sark, a Clipper sailing ship built in 1869, and one of the fastest of its kind, hitting 20 mph at times; pretty impressive for a 280' sailing cargo ship. It initially moved tea between China and England but later in its 50+ year life moved about everything all over the world.

The Cutty Sark has been preserved and turned into a museum. |
The Cutty Sark is supported in the air from its sides, so you can walk under the keel.
We explored the ship literally from bottom to top and very much enjoyed it.
After we were done touring the Cutty Sark, we set out to find the Prime Meridian via Greenwich Park.
Greenwich Park is beautiful and being a nice day it was full of people enjoying the weather.

The Park has a large hill with an observatory on the summit. |

The flowers in the park are beautiful. |
We wanted to stand on the Prime Meridian but to do this 'officially' required entry into the museum, so Ed ciphered that we could find it with our phone GPS....
We did...we were pointed North at 0 degree Longitude. We stood with one foot in the East and one foot in the West.
We walked back to the city down the hill taking a different route, the park is quite large.
We walked back to Greenwich village and found a place to have lunch. We chose an appropriately named establishment called 'The Greenwich Tavern', it was a great lunch.
After lunch we were not inclined to walk the 3+ miles back to the hotel, so we booked the Ferry from Greenwich to Westminster.
It was a pretty full ferry but gave an entirely different perspective of London.
The view of the Tower of London castle was much more the way I expected it would look versus what we saw walking around it on foot.
Our ferry docked right below Big Ben and the Westminster Abby, just beautiful in the setting sun.
We took the Tube back to our hotel, we have a big travel day tomorrow, so we decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant and turn in early. It was another good day.
